Magic Leap Application for Visual Training

We have been the technical partner of a mixed reality application for Visual Training, a form of treatment for visual disorders. Stefan Villiger has developed the application as part of his diploma thesis at the School of Design in Bern. Augment IT provided the Magic Leap One. Our Senior AR Software Engineer Julien Villiger has supported the application with AR/MR and device consulting and technical know-how for the implementation in Unity and around programming.

More about the Mixed Reality application Aurora

Visual training is a form of therapy for the treatment of visual disorders. The three-dimensional depth view is decisive for visual training. Mixed Reality can make an important contribution here. Daily training over a longer period of time is important for the success of such exercises. Often, however, conventional trainings lead to a fatigue after a certain time. The exercises are boring and the daily visual training tends to be neglected. During the development of the application, this fact has been taken into account with playful elements. Not only can patients view their progress, they can also see evaluations. An important factor for motivation is the activation of additional exercise content. In addition, patients can compare their performance with other patients in a Leaderboard. An administration application has been developed for the therapists in charge. This allows the assignment of special exercises to the patients and monitoring of training courses. You can find out more about Aurora on Stefan Villiger’s homepage.
